In this live fire demonstration, you can see how the FS cable coating reacts when exposed to a direct flame.
The FS coated cable.
We checked the result by cutting the cable open and discovered that there was no damage, the inner cables were fully intact.
Even the plastic wrapping was unharmed
The uncoated cable.
The upper part of the cable sample was uncoated and we exposed it to a direct flame to demonstrate how fast it starts to give off poisonous smoke and catch fire. Within 30 seconds the cable catches fire and we could sense a smell as it started to release poisonous gas.
One minute later the PVC reached its flashpoint, it’s now over 982 degrees Celsius. It’s giving off hydrochloric gas which:
- Kills human beings.
- Attack all other electrical components.
Conclusion.
Uncoated cable:
As a result of the failure of the uncoated cable, you will have multiple areas, multiple systems down within a very short period of time.
FS coated cable:
On the coated cable the core of the cables has not failed, hereby protecting our client against loss of production and loss of life.
